Pilot Precise V5: mightier than the sword

So, I know it has been a while since I did a pen post. I also realize that people who come here for comics probably don’t want to read my gushing over pens. My solution, do a pen post with a smattering of comics!
So a few months ago I lost one of my Pilot Precise V5. I always keep one in my pocket, and it must have popped out. I quickly replaced it and forgot about it.

About a month later I found it in the parking lot at work. Run over, left out in the rain, searing in the 100 degree heat. It was like coming across a crime scene:

The poor guy looked bad. Cap busted, clip bent all to hell. He had fallen on tough times:

I tossed him in my pocket next to the newer one and went inside. I pulled out a fresh piece of paper and sure enough, it still worked.

I was so impressed that I drew a little picture and hand wrote a letter to Pilot telling them the tale. I am sure they know how awesome their pens are but I just thought I would let them know that it doesn’t go unnoticed.

I figured they might send me a note back, but I wasn’t expecting anything. A few days go by and I get a package in the mail. Holy Shit. It is from Pilot:

Class act Pilot. Class Act. Thanks a bunch Pilot for not only making one hell of a pen but for taking care of your customers.

If you are reading this, thanks.

Nick Folz.

Wow. I’ve emailed people before, but never written one. Certainly had my fair share of complaints. But WOW, that’s some serious love right there! I think I might have to send off that letter to Pentel I’ve had drafted for ages, ya think?

Ruby: Thanks for reading! It really is a fantastic pen.

Gwynne: I am sure companies love to here that their customers are proud of their product, it couldn’t hurt to drop them a line. Just be sure to use their product if you hand write it! Oh, and thanks for reading!
